Coquitlam Parks is responsible for 69 developed parks with new sites being added annually as the city grows. Additionally, Parks maintains the landscape at all civic buildings including fire halls, recreation and arts centres, libraries, etc. Streetscapes also fall within the Parks portfolio including enhanced medians, boulevards and multi-purpose pathways.

Reporting to a Tradesman 2 Gardener or Landscape Coordinator, supervising a gardening and lawn maintenance person or team, you will take the lead in a variety of horticultural/turf maintenance work in our parks, public building grounds and boulevards, including installing and maintaining floral displays, weed and pest control, plant care and turf maintenance. Working alongside your crew, you will plan, organize & supervise your team to deliver horticultural excellence and provide outstanding customer service.

Your organizational and leadership skills, independent judgment and ability to coach and deliver the team vision are complemented by considerable practical experience and knowledge of a wide variety of plants, landscape maintenance tools and equipment as well as an understanding of integrated pest management principles and practices. You have considerable knowledge of the methods, practices and materials used in gardening and horticultural work. You hold a valid BC driver’s license.

A CUPE hourly rate of $34.68, 6% in lieu of benefits, plus an earned day off program is being offered.
