Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Coordinator will work closely with the Quality Assurance Specialist and Product Managers in reviewing preliminary designs and advising on production viability and fit of garments. They will review a series of prototypes, size set and Pre-Production Samples as they relate to customer specifications and clearly communicate with suppliers. They will also assist in evaluating supplier performance. As a team member, you will:
What you’ll do
Work collaboratively with the Product Managers to advice on production viability of preliminary designs and provide appropriate graded specifications.
Review and completely understand a series of garment prototypes, size set and Pre-Production Samples as they relate to specified design sketches, fabric, desired silhouette, measurements and trim.
In consultation with the Product Managers, recommend alternatives for more cost efficient design and manufacturing techniques where necessary
Ensure continuity of fit for the designated category, making sure all samples fit the standard sizes appropriately for the design, ensuring that expectations for garment fit and manufacture are clearly communicated
To measure all samples within areas of responsibility for fit and production against size specifications to ensure the desired fit and look is achieved in a timely manner.
Ability to create measurement specifications for new garments and development of seasonal specification packages
Review garment to make corrections to specifications and details to achieve desired fit and look.
Maintain the approved blocks for each category to ensure consistency in fit.
Ability to create grade rules where applicable
Review garments for construction, fit and style details
Ability to identify and analyze problems and make sound recommendations to insure company specifications are being met.
To clearly communicate to the vendor any changes or corrections that need to be made within the timeline and action schedule deadlines.
As part of the quality process, review and audit technical packs, bill of material, and specifics for accuracy before price quotations are solicited by Product Managers.
Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the designated Product Managers for updates of sample status leading up to hand off.
Perform store audits; develop regular reports analyzing supplier performance through quality and other key performance indicators.
Engage in active problem solving with overseas vendors, providing solutions & clarity to ensure timely delivery of samples and bulk production.
Understanding of fabric and garment testing will be an asset

What you bring
Bachelor's degree in fashion, garment construction and textiles; textile relevant course or degree preferred
2+ years experience in apparel development/ sourcing/ design and merchandising
Experience dealing with off shore sourcing an asset
Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Excel, power point, word applications (illustrator or graphic/ design skills an asset.)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Understanding of fabric and garment testing will be an asset
Enjoy working in a team environment and strong attention to detail is a must
Self-motivated, passionate and able to work to deadlines in a fast paced environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently under pressure of constant deadlines
Must be able to handle stress in a demanding, multi-tasking environment
