As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and organized Shop Manager / Sales Representative to join our team. This is a key leadership position that combines shop management, customer relations, sales support, and operational oversight.
Position Summary
The Shop Manager / Sales Representative is responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the shop while supporting our sales and customer service efforts. The successful candidate will work closely with management, production staff, shipping personnel, and customers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Relations
Respond to customer inquiries and sales emails.
Prepare and follow up on quotations.
Generate invoices and assist with order processing.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Travel occasionally to meet customers, attend industry events, trade shows, and golf tournaments.
Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities for growth.
Shop Operations & Management
Oversee daily shop operations and workflow.
Ensure employees are working efficiently and productively.
Address operational issues and provide solutions as they arise.
Monitor production schedules and ensure work remains ahead of customer deadlines.
Coordinate priorities between production and shipping departments.
Work closely with the shipping team to understand customer requirements and shipment deadlines.
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Inventory & Planning
Monitor and manage inventory levels.
Coordinate purchasing requirements as needed.
Ensure critical components and materials are available to meet production demands.
Assist with forecasting inventory requirements based on workload and customer demand.
Qualifications
Required
Previous management or supervisory experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and management.
Strong work ethic and leadership abilities.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Willingness to learn and grow within the rail industry.
Preferred Assets
Experience in sales, customer service, or account management.
Knowledge of the railway industry.
Experience with rail equipment, air brake systems, locomotive components, slack adjusters, or brake cylinders.
Inventory management experience.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
