Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team in the heart of the house. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and executing menu items according to recipes and standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to food quality, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and marinating
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist in stocking and organizing prep stations
- Label and store food items properly in compliance with food safety standards
Cooking & Line Duties
- Cook menu items to order during service while maintaining presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and sauté stations
- Ensure timely and accurate order execution in a high-volume environment
- Monitor food quality and report issues to the Kitchen Manager
Kitchen Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and closing duties as needed
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages
Team Collaboration
- Work effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Take direction from chefs and supervisors
- Support team members to ensure smooth service operations
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
