A service-driven paper and packaging products company, Atlantic Packaging has grown to become one of Canada’s largest paper manufacturers and a leading producer of packaging products. Our organization employs approximately 1000 people at eight manufacturing plants and four distribution centers.
We are looking for a Customer Service Specialist for our Retail Packaging and Display Division in Scarborough. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager the Customer Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating and overseeing production order workflow. Acts as a liaison between sales, estimating, design and production coordinators.
Work with sales representative, designers, estimators and project coordinator on new and repeat orders for a specific group of assigned accounts.
Answer all customer (internal and external) communications quickly, thoroughly and informatively in a professional manner
Handle all finished good inventory reports that are customer facing using various management information software reports.
Communicate order requirements to the production coordinator within 24 hours of receiving customer purchase order
Communicate all issues concerning orders to customers, sales representatives and management with expedience and attention to detail.
Process any credit and debits pertaining to customer accounts
Manage customer contracts and agreements with the sales representatives including price lists, rebate programs, label buys.
Gathers information and documentation relevant to the look, materials and construction of the customer orders.
Enters all production orders into the appropriate management information system software based on purchase orders received via client direct, sales representatives or other.
Utilize other programs such as Salesforce for job knowledge on estimates, designs, quotations and possible customer trending.
Facilitate and attend all pre-quote meetings.
Ensure the integrity of records supporting estimates of costs, and pricing levels for individual projects.
Determine which quotations are feasible for production orders and ensure the customer purchase order matches the quoted pricing, design, routing and materials prior to proceeding with the order.
Engage in continual improvement initiatives and on the job training to further the success of the company and for personal growth.
Work safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and takes all reasonable measures to protect themselves and their co-workers
Use and or wear personal protective equipment that the company requires to be used or worn
Work in compliance with the responsibilities as outlined in the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety act and the Industrial Regulations and with the Company’s safe practices and procedures
Complete any other assignments or job responsibilities as given by the CSM
Assist in the training and cross training of new customer service specialists.
Other duties as required
Post secondary diploma preferably with a graphics communication designation
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing facility preferably Corrugate, folding carton or point of purchase displays.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Knowledge of a SAP and/or ERP system an asset
Strong and effective communication skills with the ability to prioritize
Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
Highly motivated with a strong ability to take initiative
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
A conceptual thinker, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to solve problems in a fast paced environment.
