Automha Americas Automation Corp. continues to expand with the addition of a Software Controls Specialist. Reporting to the COO, the Software Controls Specialist is a key player in the implementation and support of our advanced Warehouse Management Systems. This role blends software development in an office environment with on-site activities across North and South America, focusing on integrating automated systems to boost operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
This role requires extensive travel throughout North and occasionally, South America.

Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with clients to seamlessly integrate their ERP or WMS systems with Automha’s AWMS platform, using standard tools.
- Develop client-specific Software Functional Specifications for automated systems.
- Work alongside internal Controls Specialists and Software Developers during client startup and commissioning.
- Create testing plans for automated systems to ensure functionality.
- Train clients and their operators on utilizing our software solutions and troubleshooting.
- Produce and maintain key documentation, including technical manuals, release notes, and user guides for AWMS.
- Ongoing technical/software related support to existing clients.
- Support the Sales team in providing technical support during the commercial sales process as required.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years work experience in computer science and/or automation engineering strongly preferred.
- Related education/courses in Software Engineering or related is required.
- Minimum 2 years Material Handling Experience preferred.
- Experience successfully modifying C++ and VBNet coding.
- Experience required in C# for developing Windows applications and web APIs in Microsoft Visual Studio required.
- Strong proficiency with SQL Server required.
- Familiar with SCADA, WinCC, and Wonderware inTouch systems preferred.
- Experience providing technical training to non-technical people is essential.
- Experience with PLC programming in Siemens TIA Portal/STEP7 environment and Rockwell RSlogix Family preferred.
- Experience in applications with Motion Control with Siemens or Rockwell preferred.
- Strong Microsoft office skills required.
- Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as consumers and co-workers required.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout North America extensively without restrictions (and at times, for prolonged periods), this includes having a suitable drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract, and valid passport.
- Responsive to after-hours support calls when required.
General
- Monday to Friday general business hours 9:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional after-hours support.
- This is a full-time position.
- The ideal candidate can work in the Greater Toronto Area to attend regular meetings in Oakville.
