About the Role
We are seeking a well-rounded CNC Machinist with a strong background in manufacturing and hands-on experience with CNC mills and lathes. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, tooling selection, machine setup, and production based on engineering drawings and specified tolerances. Candidates must have a post-secondary education in manufacturing and be proficient in Fusion 360 or Mastercam. Familiarity with Haas CNC machines is required.
Responsibilities
- Program CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360 or Mastercam
- Set up and operate Haas CNC machines
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies
- Set up and run CNC mills and lathes to required specifications and tolerances
- Perform in-process measurements and quality checks
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
- Optimize machining processes for quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work independently while collaborating with engineering and production teams
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Machining, CNC Technology, or a related field
- Proven CNC machining experience
- Strong proficiency with Fusion 360 or Mastercam programming
- Experience operating and setting up Haas CNC machines
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining practices
- Ability to consistently machine components within specified tolerances
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Considered an Asset
- Experience with automation and machine design
- CAD/CAM experience beyond basic programming
- Experience improving machining processes and cycle times
- Experience with custom or low-volume manufacturing
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $32–$37 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, and programming expertise.
