Position Summary
The Equipment Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of the facility by operating and maintaining equipment used for arena preparation, grounds keeping and general site maintenance. This is a client-facing position that requires strong safety awareness, equipment knowledge, and flexibility to support both day-to-day operations and special events.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Customer Interaction
- Ensure the safety of staff, guests, participants, and animals at all times
- Operate equipment safely and professionally in public and event settings
- Interact courteously with clients and visitors, offering assistance when needed
- Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly
Arena & Grounds Operations
- Perform arena maintenance, including grooming, leveling, and surface preparation
- Assist with setup and maintenance of panels, pens, stalls, and event infrastructure
- Support parking lot maintenance, including grading and surface upkeep
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate equipment such as tractors, skid steers, groomers, and related machinery
- Perform basic inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment
- Monitor and understand the impact of equipment use on grounds and infrastructure
- Report mechanical issues or repair needs to the Facility Lead
Seasonal & Site Maintenance
- Perform snow removal for roads, walkways, and parking areas
- Assist with mowing, weed control, and general site upkeep
General Duties
- Support event setup and teardown
- Collaborate with facility and event teams
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience operating heavy or agricultural equipment (preferred)
- Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during events
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
