Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Sr SEM and Performance Media Specialist to lead our digital marketing campaigns across various platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of search engine marketing, paid media, and data analytics to optimize performance and drive measurable results. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in SEO, Google Ads, Facebook Advertising, and e-commerce marketing, with a proven track record of managing large budgets and delivering ROI-focused campaigns. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence brand growth through innovative digital strategies and data-driven decision-making.
The expectation is to work collaboratively across the agency and with clients to deliver their business objectives. The following indicate the main responsibilities of the role:
1. Strategy development, execution and account management
· Ensuring an understanding of the overall client strategy and business objectives
· Build knowledge to become a subject matter expert in paid search marketing for our clients, responsible for strategy and best-practices to drive improved performance, supporting all marketing and digital channel efforts to ensure a consistent approach to winning in paid search
· Work with your Manager to evaluate current SEM account set up, developing new strategies to increase performance and proactively presenting those to internal planning teams and clients as required.
· Work with your Manager to evaluate social channels set up to drive performance cmapaigns, developing new strategies to increase performance and proactively presenting those to internal planning teams and clients as required.
· Manage the day to day performance business of clients, responding to questions, including:
i. Daily, weekly and monthly optimizations
ii. including evaluation of ad copy, ad formats and ad groups
iii. implementing negative keywords and bidding strategies.
· Regular analyses of google analytics and landing pages to determine impact on overall search results and web traffic
· Ability to direct site tagging strategy to maximize campaign effectiveness.
· Effectively and efficiently manage cost per acquisition campaigns.
· Provide accurate and timely reporting with insights, benchmarks and recommendations on next steps.
· Proactively make well informed recommendations to our clients for the betterment of their business results
2. Technical proficiency:
· Working with Google Analytics, Adobe Ad Cloud, or other search support teams to help set up goals and conversions on behalf of clients
· Building and maintaining proficiency in Google AdWords, Microsoft,
o Also understand Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Campaign Manager, Power BI, etc.
· Working knowledge of Meta for performance based campaigns
· Building knowledge in other social platforms for performance based campaigns.
· Have a deep familiarity with pixels, their implementation and testing to ensure they are working correctly. Including the evolution of campaign tracking/tagging, etc.
3. Continuous Development
· Be curious and engaged; ask questions, seek feedback, and contribute to team learning.
· Showcase passion for the industry; stay current with digital media innovations and consumer trends in the Canadian market.
· Learn and stay abreast of search trends including AI implications and opportunities
· Pursue additional industry certifications: Meta Blueprint, Google Ads / GA4, LinkedIn Marketing. Reddit Ads, IAB Canada Training, TikTok Academy
· Attend events and webinars (CMDC, AdWeek, IAB Canada, etc.).
· Have a partnership mentality; be collaborative with internal and external stakeholders, including sharing key updates from vendors and platforms with your teams and clients.
· Help train, onboard and mentor junior staff and interns as experience builds.
Experience required:
· University or College degree in marketing, advertising or a related field
· 3+ years of experience in SEM
· 2+ years of experience in Performance Social
· A deep knowledge of the Canadian Media ecosystem
· Deep understanding of Google and Microsoft Search with a proven track road of generating successful client outcomes.
· Advanced level MS office skills in Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc
· Strong communication skills. Including the ability to explain technical topics in a digestible way.
· Ability to turn data points into actionable insights.
· Critical thinking to be able to develop insights, hypothesis and problem solve.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
