Job Overview
THIS IS NOT AN ORDER-TAKER ROLE.
We are not looking for someone who just books oil changes and passes papers across a counter.
We are seeking a driven, dynamic Service Advisor who knows how to control the front counter, drive sales performance, and actively manage shop workflow. You will act as the crucial bridge between our customers and our technicians—balancing customer relationship management with real-time bay operations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In this dual-focus role, you will hold accountability for both Sales Performance and Bay Management:
1. Front Counter & Sales Leadership
- Drive Value: Educate customers on inspection findings, build value on recommended services, and confidently close sales.
- Customer Interaction: Manage in-person, phone, and digital inquiries with a high degree of professionalism and empathy.
- Consultative Selling: Ask probing questions to understand vehicle usage, identify genuine needs, and guide customers toward informed maintenance decisions.
2. Bay Management & Operations
- Workflow Control: Actively manage vehicle movement through the shop floor to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Dispatch & Productivity: Prioritize, assign, and dispatch jobs strategically to balance technician throughput and optimize hourly efficiency.
- Communication Hub: Maintain a clear, constant line of communication between technicians, parts staff, and customers to prevent project delays.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- High Conversion & ARO: Consistently present full digital vehicle inspections and secure approvals on necessary repairs.
- Maximized Shop Flow: Techs are kept productive, bays stay filled, and downtime is virtually non-existent.
- Composure Under Fire: You maintain structure and leadership at the counter—even during peak morning drops and rush hours.
WHO YOU ARE
- Sales-Minded: You are confident asking for the sale because you genuinely believe in the value and safety of the service.
- Operational Leader: You possess strong spatial and organizational awareness; you know what’s happening in every bay at all times.
- Thick-Skinned & Decisive: You thrive under pressure, make firm calls on dispatch priority, and take full ownership of shop outcomes.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable utilizing modern shop management software (AutoLeap experience is a major plus).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Proven track record in automotive service advising, retail automotive sales, or high-volume shop management.
- Required: Deep understanding of preventative automotive maintenance and diagnostic processes.
- Asset: Prior experience dispatching work, controlling shop capacity, or utilizing AutoLeap / modern shop platforms.
- Asset: Prior experience at high-volume service centres, dealerships, or aftermarket facilities (e.g., Midas, Mr. Lube, Canadian Tire).
WHAT WE OFFER
- Uncapped Earning Potential: Strong base salary paired with a performance-driven bonus plan.
- Career Growth: Opportunities to advance across multiple locations for high performers.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Dental care, Vision care, and Life insurance package.
