The Electromechanical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be able to support both electrical and mechanical issues across the plant.
This position includes electrical work such as connecting and disconnecting motors and pumps up to 600 VAC, troubleshooting sensors, solenoids, push buttons, and other field devices, as well as mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the facility. All electrical work must be completed within the candidate's training, qualifications, and company safety requirements.
The duties and responsibilities of this position will be as follows:
1. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
2. Connect and disconnect motors, pumps, and related equipment up to 600 VAC, within training, qualification, and company safety requirements.
Troubleshoot sensors, solenoids, push buttons, limit switches, photo eyes, proximity switches, and other field devices.
3. Diagnose issues with motor controls, starters, VFD-related equipment, relays, and basic control circuits.
4. Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, pumps, valves, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and other plant equipment.
5. Respond to equipment breakdowns during production and return equipment to service safely and efficiently.
6. Complete preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, adjustments, and repairs as assigned.
7. Read and interpret electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.
8. Complete work orders accurately, including notes, parts used, time spent, and any follow-up work required.
9. Follow company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements.
10. Communicate clearly with production, sanitation, quality, and maintenance team members.
11. Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend repairs or improvements to reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Electromechanical Technologist Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working safely with industrial electrical systems up to 600 VAC.
- Experience working with motors, pumps, conveyors, sensors, solenoids, pneumatic components, and industrial field devices.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently on an active production shift.
- Strong understanding of lockout/tagout and general industrial safety procedures.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document completed work clearly.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.
Pay: $30.00-$52.00 per hour
