GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Flock Supervisor and/or Farm Coordinator, the egg collector of the broiler breeder hatching eggs is responsible for assisting in the daily collection of hatching eggs and the overseeing of the breeding flock. Windemere Farms Ltd. - Broiler Breeder Division is committed to efficient and profitable production of top quality hatching eggs for the available market, meeting Pacific Pride requirements, and respecting the highest bio-security standards from attractive and well-maintained facilities, with the help and cooperation of interested and supportive staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Responsible for following bio-security standards and Company related policies.
2. Responsible for being self-motivated and being able to work independently.
3. Ensures eggs from the barns are collected, handled and packed in accordance with Company standards.
4. Responsible for being aware and, the implementation, of "Broody Control Program" as prescribed by the Company.
5. Maintains and updates flock records and statistics.
6. Informs Supervisor immediately of concerns or problems.
7. Monitors all inventory and supplies, and refers order request to the Supervisor.
8. Maintains the facility in a clean and tidy fashion according to Company standards.
9. Performs all related duties associated with egg room and egg storage as required by the Supervisor.
10. Maintains bio-security facilities according to Company guidelines.
11. Monitors facilities, farm equipment and vehicles according to Company Standards.
12. Responsible for the knowledge of all WHMIS and TDG regulations and procedures.
13. Maintains knowledge of and, executes all Company Policies and Procedures as required by the organization and other regulatory agencies.
14. Maintains and represents a professional and positive image for the company at all times.
15. Functions as a team member.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Three (3) months pervious eggs collection experience an asset.
- Familiarity with egg processing equipment would be an asset to this position.
