Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst. This is a full-time position based in our Calgary Office. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role that requires superb organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Support leadership on a wide variety of tasks, including quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, system optimization, and business development opportunities.
Ensure leadership and team members are briefed with applicable material to generate informed decisions. Assist with developing presentations for internal functional groups and senior management regarding the assessment of various opportunities
Perform industry research on topics of interest, including competitors, potential new jurisdictions, and new technologies, and presenting to the Business Development & Strategy team
Provide other analytical support and reporting as required.
Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Interface and collaborate with various internal Tidewater groups.
Qualifications:
University degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Sciences from a nationally recognized undergraduate program.
CFA designation or currently pursuing CFA would be desirable.
0 – 3 years of relevant experience in energy, finance, investment banking, consulting, project management or engineering roles;
Previous experience and interest in financial modelling;
Experienced and highly confident in researching capabilities;
High level understanding of low carbon regulations domestically and internationally; more specifically, understanding of regulations such as BC LCFS, CFR, U.S. LCFS, RINs, tax credits, grants and/or incentives available to renewable fuel projects would be considered an asset
Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
