Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Math, Chemistry & Physics Tutor/Academic Support professional to join our team. In this paid role, you will empower students by providing engaging tutoring sessions and academic assistance in STEM subjects, fostering confidence and academic success. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students overcome challenges and excel in their studies.
Duties
- Deliver engaging tutoring sessions in Math, Chemistry, and Physics to students of various ages and skill levels
- Assess individual student needs and develop personalized learning plans to address specific challenges
- Support students with homework, test preparation, and understanding complex concepts using clear explanations
- Utilize computer skills to incorporate educational software and online resources into lessons
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, or therapists to monitor progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that motivates students to participate actively in their learning process
- Document student progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement
Requirements
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or support setting
- Strong knowledge of Math, Chemistry, and Physics concepts suitable for various grade levels
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience with a focus on STEM subjects
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
- Proficiency in computer skills, including educational software and online learning tools
- Classroom experience or familiarity with special education approaches is a plus
- Background in teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs or disabilities, including special education or computer science knowledge is desirable
