Title: Tax Analyst

Job Overview:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for managing ETG’s corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and transfer pricing documentation, while supporting audits and special projects. This role ensures timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, tax provisions, and reconciliations, and provides technical guidance on the tax implications of business decisions. The Tax Specialist will collaborate with internal teams, ETG’s Group tax team, and external advisors to maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and international tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file corporate income tax and sales tax returns in compliance with deadlines.
- Prepare provisional tax computations, tax provision schedules, and reconciliations for annual filings.
- Maintain tax records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor environmental handling fees and customs duties.
Audit & Regulatory Support:
- Respond to tax audit requests from statutory auditors and government authorities.
- Prepare correspondence with external tax agencies and consultants.
- Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and evaluate implications for the company.
Transfer Pricing & International Tax:
- Prepare transfer pricing documentation and coordinate intercompany agreements with the legal team.
- Support Pillar Two effective tax rate computations and compliance readiness.
- Support the Group tax team with the compilation and submission of Country-by-Country Reports (CbCR).
Planning & Advisory:
- Analyse tax laws and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Provide cash tax estimates and effective tax rate forecasts for budgeting and forecasting.
- Assist with the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions and special projects.
Month-End & Year-End Support:
- Assist with monthly closing and year-end audit processes.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and recommend adjustments.
Employment Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA or CA designation required.
- 5+ years of tax experience in corporate or public accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and sales taxes; US tax knowledge is an asset.
- Knowledge of OECD guidelines, Pillar 1 & 2, and intercompany transactions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with tax preparation and provision software is an asset.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
