Breton Crafthouse is seeking an experienced Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team.
The Role: Prep Cook
As a Prep Cook, you play a vital role in ensuring every station is set for success. You'll work behind the scenes preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients to support a seamless service. Your attention to detail helps maintain the high standards that define every guest's experience.
You are a hardworking, dependable individual who understands the importance of preparation in a professional kitchen. You stay organized, and take ownership of your role. You’re not afraid of repetition, value cleanliness, and thrive when part of a tightly coordinated team. You’re physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and comfortable working early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ingredient Preparation: Washing, chopping, measuring, labeling, and storing all necessary ingredients for daily service.
- Station Readiness: Ensuring each station is stocked and ready for cooks and chefs before, during, and after service.
- Recipe Execution: Following prep sheets and recipes with accuracy to maintain consistency.
- Kitchen Support: Assisting cooks and chefs throughout the shift as needed, responding quickly to kitchen demands.
- Organization and Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean, organized workspace that follows all health and food safety guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with fellow staff, being punctual, and working cooperatively to keep operations running smoothly.
- Maintaining and completing all prep logs in legible and timely manner
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous prep or line experience preferred, especially in scratch kitchens, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a busy, hot kitchen environment.
- Availability: Must be available for early morning shifts, evenings, and weekends.
- Attention to Detail: You’re precise, clean, and consistent.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable; you understand how critical your role is to the team.
- Precision: Ability to follow exact directions and prep specifications is essential.
- Collaborative: Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a team environment and remains open to feedback and new ideas.
- Food Safety: Valid Food Safety certification is required. Keeping an up to date certification is a requirement of maintaining employment.
