Summary of the position:
The Training and Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting the organization’s overall business strategy by ensuring effective training systems are in place across all facilities. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role manages the full training lifecycle—from needs assessment and program design to delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement. The Specialist also supports succession planning, talent development, and Health & Safety initiatives, contributing to a strong, compliant, and future‑ready workforce.
Your Background:
- Experience as a Training & Development Specialist or similar role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and role‑specific training needs
- Skilled in training delivery, facilitation, and evaluation
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel)
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Fluent in English; strong team ethic
Responsibilities:
- Assess training needs and develop aligned training programs
- Deliver onboarding, orientation, and skills training
- Facilitate instructor‑led sessions using varied training methods
- Create or source training materials and manuals
- Coordinate trainers, schedules, and training logistics
- Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements
- Audit training delivery for consistency and quality
- Maintain accurate training records and certifications
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit standards
- Prepare reports on training activities and outcomes
- Support talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning
- Deliver required Health & Safety training and promote safety culture
- Build strong relationships with leaders and provide development guidance
- Collaborate with HR, IT, H&S, external trainers, and regulatory bodies
- Track KPIs, manage training budgets, and stay current on best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Training & Development, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of training experience
- Experience with training systems or LMS platforms
- Strong training facilitation and evaluation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Problem‑solving and analytical capability
