About Driftwood Sport and Wellness
Driftwood Sport and Wellness is a locally owned, multidisciplinary health and wellness clinic with a strong focus on active rehabilitation, injury prevention, patient education, and whole-person care.
Our team includes practitioners across clinical counselling, physiotherapy, athletic therapy, kinesiology, massage therapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, and other health and wellness services. We believe that collaboration between disciplines allows us to provide patients with more comprehensive care and better long-term outcomes.
We work with a diverse population ranging from youth and recreationally active individuals to high-performance athletes, professional teams, and individuals looking to improve their overall physical and mental well-being.
We are currently looking for a Clinical Counsellor / Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our growing team at our Belmont Market location, with the opportunity to transition or expand into our new Royal Bay location in January 2027.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Counsellor who is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-informed, client-centred care in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own clinical caseload while working alongside a team of health professionals who value communication, collaboration, and whole-person care.
Our existing clinical counselling services support individuals and couples navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, challenging emotions, self-esteem and confidence, relationship concerns, sleep, coping strategies, sport performance, and the intersection of mental and physical health.
We are particularly interested in clinicians who have a passion for working with active individuals, athletes, youth, performance, injury recovery, chronic pain, stress, or the mind-body connection, although applicants with other areas of clinical interest are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and/or relationship counselling based on your scope of practice and areas of expertise.
- Complete comprehensive client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-informed therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's needs and goals.
- Establish a safe, inclusive, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with clients and, where appropriate, other members of their healthcare team.
- Participate in multidisciplinary communication and referrals when clinically appropriate.
- Support clients in developing practical coping strategies, self-awareness, resilience, and sustainable approaches to mental wellness.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with applicable regulatory and professional requirements.
- Continue to develop clinical knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.
- Build and grow a caseload in alignment with your clinical interests and areas of expertise.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a clinician who is:
- A Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or otherwise appropriately qualified to provide clinical counselling in British Columbia.
- In good standing with their applicable professional association or regulatory body.
- Compassionate, approachable, and genuinely client-centred.
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Committed to evidence-informed and ethical clinical practice.
- Interested in building a long-term practice within a growing clinic.
- A strong communicator who values collaboration and professional relationships.
- Organized and comfortable with electronic charting and online booking systems.
- Interested in continuing education and professional growth.
Additional clinical experience or training in areas such as sport psychology, performance, trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, concussion, injury recovery, youth mental health, couples counselling, or mind-body approaches would be considered an asset.
