Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely and efficiently excavate around utilities, structures, and other underground infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical systems, and construction site safety protocols. The Hydrovac Operator plays a crucial role in supporting various construction projects by providing precise excavation services with minimal environmental impact.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed for various projects.
- Safely perform excavation around utilities, pipelines, and underground structures with precision and care.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to plan excavation tasks according to project specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment on-site.
- Assist with site setup, including positioning equipment and preparing work zones for excavation activities.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs when necessary.
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of equipment and materials between job sites.
- Support additional construction activities such as horizontal drilling or site restoration required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, graders, or paving machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on hydrovac trucks and related equipment.
- Prior experience in construction or utility excavation projects is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment and materials. DZ, ARZ or AZ
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and excavation work.
- Strong understanding of construction site protocols and environmental safety practices.
- Willing to travel out of town
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary.

Pay: $22.00-$33.00 per hour
