Summer Student Term Positions – Sackville, Dartmouth, Bedford Campuses

We are looking for dynamic individuals to be a part of our team at Sackville, Bedford and Dartmouth campuses for the position of Recreation Therapy Assistant - summer students.
Plans, implements and evaluates daily activities and programs.
Ensures the safety of the participants.
Provides support/assists with daily living skills.
Follows care plan and provides input.
Provide clients with appropriate assistance and information to be able to participate in community gatherings, special events, recreation activities and physical fitness while at the Adult Day Program.
Maintain communication with multiple clients and caregivers.
Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals and objectives.
Participate in the process of ensuring that the needs of clients are anticipated and satisfied with relation to the functions of all programs/special events/etc.
Participates in organizational learning and change.
Participates as a member of the team in planning and operations to gain on the job skills training.
Grade 11 or higher
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(1). , and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Interest in working with older adults living with dementia.

70 hours bi-weekly (7 hour Shifts – Days)
