Role Description

Do you have what it takes to drive change & success within a heavily matrixed organization? Can you provide strategic direction when running a business by understanding the intricacies in how everything is intertwined?

As President & CEO of Quadrus Investment Services you are ultimately, responsible for growing and ensuring every aspect of the business is running smoothly. The role also is responsible for providing compliance oversight and support through Quadrus and Advisor Compliance organizations for the Advisory Network for all individual products and services. As the ultimate designated person for the dealer, you are comfortable with addressing compliance issues head on, and working to ensure the dealer maintains high standards in all regards.

Quadrus is one of the largest mutual fund dealers in Canada with more than 3200 registered investment representatives. It is the exclusive mutual fund dealer for London Life Insurance Company and preferred mutual fund dealer for investment representatives of The Great-West Life Assurance Company.

Operational (70%)

Provide and influence strategical and tactical leadership for all functions related to dealer operations, including internal business partners that perform functions on behalf of the dealer.
Drives results and contributes to change processes that improve organizational performance and creates a culture of accountability
Develop key relationships with a variety of external parties, such as: industry intermediaries, vendors and product manufacturers
Provides leadership to staff with a dedicated effort to ensure staff development and engagement
Manage priorities aligned with the vision and strategy of the Individual Customer division and the Advisory Network.
Able to foster collaborative partnerships across the Advisory Network and Corporate Compliance to facilitate cooperation and business results
Pursues continuous improvement and possesses a willingness to challenge the status quo

Compliance (30%)

For individual wealth & insurance, provide first line supervision, support and training through programs for the advisory network to ensure adherence to approved compliance policies and processes
Provide strategic direction for Quadrus national compliance program, in accordance with MFDA and securities regulator requirements
Partner with sales leaders to design long-term compliance strategies and on the alignment of processes, programs and compensation

Qualifications and Competencies:
15+ years in financial services with emphasis in the Canadian mutual fund or securities industry.
University degree preferably in business, economics or marketing.
Strategic thinker and business acumen with the ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders and business partners to drive change
Ability to understand the mechanics of a heavily-matrixed organization
Proven ability to build trusting, production relationships and empower teams
Has a keen understanding of industry and market trends
Capable of prioritizing competing priorities to achieve results
Possesses a high degree of financial, analytic and problem-solving skills
Understands business levers of a dealer and how it fits into an overall financial services company
