Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Plumbing Labourer to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in plumbing and related trades. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, work safely, and contribute to various plumbing projects. Prior experience is not required but a strong interest in construction and mechanical systems is preferred. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on commercial and residential plumbing systems.
Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Handle and operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Support carpentry, HVAC, and general construction tasks as needed
- Read schematics, blueprints, and basic schematics to understand project requirements
- Measure materials accurately using basic math skills for cutting and assembly purposes
- Help with the assembly of plumbing components and fixtures
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
- Support the team in troubleshooting issues using schematic diagrams and technical instructions
Experience
- Prior experience in construction, plumbing, or related trades is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with carpentry, HVAC systems, or welding is advantageous
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, blueprint reading, schematics, and basic math enhances job performance
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills in plumbing and construction environments
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift materials safely as required
