A boutique insurance defence firm based in Toronto is seeking 1-2 associates in the 3-5 year of call range to support its insurance defence practice.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers on litigation matters while also maintaining carriage of their own files. This is an opportunity to join a busy and collaborative litigation practice with a varied and active file load.
Responsibilities
Support senior lawyers on ongoing litigation matters
Manage your own files with increasing independence
Conduct examinations for discovery, motions, mediations, and pre-trials
Draft pleadings, correspondence, and reports to insurer clients
Assist in advancing files efficiently and effectively
Qualifications
3-5 years of call in Ontario
Experience in civil litigation (insurance defence experience an asset)
Self-starter with strong organizational skills
Demonstrated work ethic and ability to manage competing priorities
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Familiarity with insurance defence practice is preferred
