ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager Business Transformation, this position is responsible for providing project management, quality control and assurance, client-focused business process and technology support to Regional Departments. The role manages multiple projects and project components to support the planning, coordination and implementation of enterprise information systems initiatives, including an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and provides project integration services to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. The position supports cross-departmental coordination of business, technical and vendor activities, contributes to the effective delivery and adoption of enterprise systems and ensures projects are delivered in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget and governance requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Manages assigned ERP projects or project components in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, and corporate project governance.
- Develops, maintains, and updates project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking.
- Establishes and maintains project controls including risk, issue, action, and decision tracking.
- Prepares regular project status reports and briefing materials for stakeholders and governance forums.
- Monitors project performance and implement corrective actions in consultation with partners.
- Participates in planning activities related to ERP and enterprise initiatives.
- Contributes to continuous improvement of project management practices, tools, and templates.
- Analyzes departmental business requirements and operational needs to support ERP planning and implementation.
- Coordinates the collection, documentation, and validation of user and functional requirements.
- Facilitates business workshops and working sessions to support solution validation and readiness.
- Coordinates functional activities related to configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Identifies cross-functional dependencies and supports integration across business areas.
- Supports quality assurance and milestone readiness activities for business delivery.
- Coordinates activities between business teams, internal technical teams, and external service providers.
- Supports planning and coordination of system implementation, testing, deployment and stabilization activities.
- Tracks vendor deliverables and supports issue resolution in accordance with contracts and policies.
- Coordinates technical activities and dependencies across solution components.
- Ensures project documentation is maintained in accordance with corporate standards.
- Coordinates with change management, communications, and training resources to support readiness for ERP implementation.
- Supports planning and coordination of partner engagement, training and knowledge transfer activities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in information systems project management implementation and support working on large corporate projects, including minimum two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience with the assessment of application technology and end user needs to recommend solutions that are in line with the strategic direction.
- Project Management Professional or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of trends in the use of current information technology specific to user department applications and the current operating environment, project management tools and relational databases.
- Knowledge of leading-edge designs and technologies such as Internet and Intranet design, web services, Java, Cisco, Nokia, Sun etc. and object programming, wireless networking, public key infrastructure, application integration and collaborative computing.
- Staff supervisory skills including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices and relevant employment legislation.
- Ability to demonstrate the Region's leadership and core competencies.
- Demonstrated project management skills specific to project budgeting, scoping, planning, configuration, testing and final delivery, including problem solving and resolution skills.
