The Role:
Deli Associate:
As a Deli Associate, you’ll play a key role in our deli’s daily operations, supporting both kitchen production and front-of-house service. This is a hands-on position where you’ll help prepare fresh, from-scratch food while also delivering excellent customer service. Your work directly contributes to the quality, presentation, and availability of the food we offer every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fruits, vegetables, and ingredients for sandwiches, salads, bowls, and hot food items
- Produce and maintain Grab & Go items, ensuring displays are fully stocked, fresh, and appealing
- Assist with the preparation of sandwiches, salads, bowls, and ready-to-eat snacks
- Support the hot food program, including basic cooking and assembly
- Slice and portion meats and cheeses with accuracy and efficiency
- Operate the dish station, ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to FOODSAFE standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked prep and service areas
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including taking orders and operating the till
- Assist team members with additional tasks to support daily production and service needs
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food prep environment is a strong asset
- You work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to lift moderate loads and stay on your feet in a fast-paced setting
- Provide excellent customer service
- FOODSAFE Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
