Position Summary
Aburi Market Downtown is seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to support our back-of-house operations! This role is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in cleanliness, works well in a fast-paced setting, and contributes to a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently
- Ensure all items are properly sanitized and stored according to health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish pit and surrounding areas
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks, including floors, garbage disposal, and recycling
- Support kitchen staff with restocking supplies (e.g., plates, cutlery, cleaning materials)
- Remove waste and ensure proper disposal in accordance with local regulations
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (including HACCP principles)
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service flow
Qualifications
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay: $18.25-$19.75 per hour
