Flexible Part-Time or Full-Time | $22–$27/hour + Bonuses | No Industry Experience Required
Are you the type of person who can walk into a room where you don't know anyone and have no problem starting a conversation?
We're looking for someone outgoing, personable, confident, and energetic to represent two growing local businesses — an HVAC/mechanical company and a custom sheet metal fabrication company.
You do NOT need HVAC, sheet metal, or sales experience.
We can teach you our businesses.
We're much more interested in finding someone who is naturally good with people.
What Does the Job Actually Look Like?
Some days, it really is as simple as loading up the vehicle with boxes of donuts and visiting local businesses.
You'll introduce yourself, drop off some treats and information about our companies, have a quick conversation, and start building a relationship.
From there, you'll keep track of who you've met and follow up.
You may also:
- Visit contractors, property managers, restaurants, businesses, and other potential customers
- Drop off donuts, coffee, company swag, or marketing material
- Introduce our companies and explain what we do
- Get contact information for the right person
- Follow up with people you've met
- Check in with existing customers
- Follow up on quotes and potential jobs
- Help generate new customer accounts
- Make occasional phone calls or send follow-up emails
- Help with customer service and scheduling
- Attend occasional networking events or industry functions
- Keep track of your visits, contacts, and opportunities
This is not door-to-door residential sales.
You're primarily visiting businesses and building relationships.
Who Would Be Great at This?
Someone with experience in serving, bartending, restaurants, hospitality, retail, reception, events, promotions, or other customer-facing work could be a great fit.
Why?
Because you already know how to talk to strangers.
You know how to read people, make conversation, remember customers, build rapport, and make people feel comfortable.
Those skills are much more important to us than knowing anything about HVAC.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Very comfortable meeting new people
- Friendly and approachable
- Confident without being pushy
- Energetic and positive
- Professional and well-presented
- Naturally good at conversation
- Good at remembering people and building relationships
- Reliable and organized
- Comfortable working independently
- Not afraid of hearing "no"
- Willing to learn
You don't need to know the difference between a furnace, heat pump, duct fitting, or stainless steel counter when you start.
We'll teach you that part.
Two Different Businesses to Represent
You'll be helping develop relationships for two related businesses.
HVAC / Mechanical
Commercial and residential HVAC service, maintenance, construction, heat pumps, boilers, air conditioning, and mechanical work.
Custom Sheet Metal
Custom ductwork, HVAC fittings, stainless steel fabrication, restaurant work, counters, and other custom metal projects.
We'll teach you what each company does, who our ideal customers are, what questions to ask, and how to recognize an opportunity.
Compensation
Starting wage: $22–$27/hour, depending on experience, availability, and responsibilities.
There will also be opportunities to earn additional bonuses for qualified leads, new accounts, and new business.
As you learn the businesses and take on more responsibility, there is room for your compensation to grow as well.
This Role Can Be Flexible
We're open to building the position around the right person.
Want a Flexible Part-Time Job?
That works.
This could be a great fit for someone looking for approximately 15–25 hours per week with some flexibility.
Spend your time visiting businesses, meeting people, making introductions, following up, and generating opportunities.
Want More Hours?
The position can also include customer relations and office responsibilities such as:
- Following up with customers
- Answering incoming inquiries
- Following up on quotes
- Booking appointments
- Maintenance agreement renewals
- Checking in with existing customers
- Asking customers for reviews
- Organizing customer information
- Helping coordinate sales opportunities
This could develop into a full-time position.
Where Could This Lead?
We're not looking at this as a dead-end promotional job.
The donuts are just an easy way to open the door.
If you're good at building relationships and want to develop your career, we'll teach you more about sales and the industries.
Over time, you could begin managing your own customer relationships, developing commercial accounts, working with property managers and contractors, selling maintenance agreements, attending networking events, and helping develop larger opportunities.
For the right person, this position could eventually grow into:
Business Development & Customer Relations Manager
We're equally open to someone who loves the flexible nature of the original role and wants to keep it that way.
What We're Really Hiring For
We don't care if you've never worked in HVAC.
We don't care if you've never sold a piece of sheet metal in your life.
We're looking for someone who can walk into a business with a box of donuts, introduce themselves with confidence, have a good conversation, and leave people remembering who they are and the companies they represent.
If you're a people person, we can teach you the rest.
