We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Swamper to join our team. The ideal candidate work with the Hydrovac Operator and be responsible for operating back end of the hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in various environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform hydrovac excavation duties safely around underground utilities, pipelines, oil and gas and cables and Sloughing.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and equipment checks in accordance with company procedures
- Use bonding and grounding equipment appropriately and consistently
- Adhere to all applicable safety standards, including Alberta OH&S regulations SOPs
- Accurately complete and submit daily reports, inspections, and other required documentation
- Provide courteous, professional service as a representative of C. Wiseman Enterpirses Ltd.
- Collaborate with coworkers to ensure safe and efficient site operations
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tools, equipment and Hydrovac units, vehicles
- Maintain clean and safe equipment
- Work effectively with supervisors, clients, and crew members.

REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the utility or construction industry
- Familiar with bonding, grounding, and confined space entry protocols and Sloughing.
- Ensure proper lock-out/tag-out and ground disturbance procedures are followed.
- Strong safety focus and knowledge of applicable regulations
- Capable of working independently under physically demanding conditions
- Experience mentoring junior operators or working as part of a field operations team
- Attending safety meetings
- Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
- Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
