A to Z Tutoring is looking for an experienced and compassionate tutor to work one-on-one with a wonderful Grade 4 student.
We're seeking an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), teacher candidate, or experienced tutor with a strong track record of supporting students with learning disabilities and complex learning needs.
Since 2015, A to Z Tutoring has helped hundreds of students build confidence and achieve academic success through personalized, one-on-one instruction. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional tutoring while building long-lasting relationships with both our tutors and families.
We carefully match tutors with students based on each student's learning needs and each tutor's qualifications to create the best possible learning experience.
Current Tutoring Opportunity:
Student: Grade 4 (currently working approximately at a Grade 2 level in Math and English)
Location: In-person tutoring in Oakville
About the Student
This student is kind, sweet, and eager to learn. She thrives with a tutor who is patient, encouraging, and able to break concepts into small, manageable steps. She enjoys working one-on-one and responds well to positive encouragement and engaging lessons. We're looking for a female tutor who can make learning both effective and enjoyable while helping her build confidence.
About the Position
Tutoring takes place one-on-one in the student's home.
Sessions are typically twice a week, 1 hour sessions on either Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays.
What We're Looking For
The ideal tutor is:
- An Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), teacher candidate, or experienced tutor
- Experienced working with students with learning disabilities or complex learning needs
- Patient, encouraging, and able to adapt lessons to each student's learning style
- Passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed academically
- Professional, dependable, and punctual
- An excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with students and families
- Committed to maintaining a consistent tutoring schedule throughout the school year
Applicants must have experience supporting students with learning disabilities, IEPs, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, or other complex learning needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of tutoring, teaching, or relevant educational experience
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Availability after school and/or on weekends
- Ability to provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, individualized tutoring sessions tailored to the student's learning needs
- Prepare or assign additional practice to reinforce concepts taught during tutoring sessions
- Create a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress
- Help the student develop confidence, independence, and strong academic skills
Job Details
Position: Part-Time Contract
Pay: $40–42/hour
