** NIGHT SHIFT** 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Monday to Saturday)
Job Summary:
The Assistant Supervisor, Production is responsible with support from the Supervisor for ensuring smooth operation of a designated shift to meet production targets and quality standards, with particular attention paid to the Mixing and Line Operating areas.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the teams are working safely and are following all safety procedures.
- Lead by example and ensure the teams are following all SOPs.
- Lead and support the team during major and minor change overs.
- Support the Supervisor, Production and act as backup when required.
- Print and re-stock forms and schedules for each line at the beginning of the shift.
- Collect all the shift forms at the end of the shift and ensure they are completed in accordance with Company specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and product weight to ensure optimal performance levels are maintained.
- Coordinate and lead team during operations such as: cleaning conveyor, minor adjustment on the belts, cleaning workstation etc.
- Coordinate team to reduce change over downtime.
- Ensure all materials for next shift are pre-staged.
- Support Quality department to review and update SOP’s when required.
- Ensure all the equipment and chemical products are stored in accordance with SOP’s.
- Organize, assist, and monitor sanitation activities.
- Manage inventory of chemical supplies when required.
- Ensure housekeeping duties are completed according to Company specifications.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food production plant required.
- Team lead or lead hand experience required.
- Ability to lead, motivate and engage a team.
- Previous experience within the bakery sector highly preferred.
- Must have a “safety first” mindset.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel / Word).
- Good communication skills with the ability to effectively guide a team and work with employees at all levels.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
