The teacher and educational assistant in our fully equipped classroom work as a team to implement appropriate programs that respect the diverse needs and backgrounds of all children.
Role Description The Kindergarten Teacher will be full-time, on-site based at The Hay Lakes School in Hay Lakes, AB. The role involves delivering developmentally appropriate lessons that support early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and creative expression. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating a warm and inclusive classroom environment, guiding play-based learning activities, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to families and caregivers. The teacher will also ensure adherence to safety and school policies while fostering respect, curiosity, and positive behavior in the classroom. As a private education program, all resources including books, curriculum and supplies are provided along with a small spending allowance as needed. We also have a very experienced, full time EA in our classroom.
Qualifications
- Canadian Bachelor of Education Degree
- Valid Alberta teaching certificate
- Current background check and any required provincial licenses or credentials for teaching in Alberta.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training to design and deliver developmentally appropriate learning activities.
- Effective Communication skills to engage with children, families, and colleagues in a clear and respectful manner.
- Current or recent Alberta Teachers Association membership
- Understanding of child development, inclusive practices, and classroom management strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Pay: $64,000.00-$66,000.00 per year
