Position Details
The Athletics & Recreation Department is seeking a Sport Performance Coach to support the development and delivery of high-performance training programs for all varsity, club, and youth sport athletes.
In this role, you will assist in designing and implementing year-round strength and conditioning programs for male and female athletes, including in-season, off-season, and pre-season training. Programs will reflect research-driven practices and align with our country’s long-term Athletic/Fitness Development Model. You’ll be responsible for writing and supervising training plans, conducting athlete testing, monitoring performance, and maintaining detailed training records.
You will also support the coordination of club sports and youth training programs, ensuring consistency and quality across all levels. These programs are a key part of our department’s revenue generation. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with coaches and training staff to implement performance monitoring technology, including Athlete Monitoring software and TitanGPS, to track and enhance athlete performance.

Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in strength and conditioning. A CSCS certification (or equivalent) is required, along with Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sport performance and the training demands of national, provincial, and university-level athletes. They will be skilled in applying sport science principles, including the use of data collection and analysis to enhance athlete performance.
This position will require a satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$4,772.00 - $5,403.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$4,772.00 - $6,034.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 11)
