Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bun Machine Operator to run and monitor our Duetto 2 bun machine in a fast-paced wholesale bakery environment. This position is responsible for setting up the machine, maintaining steady production flow, checking product quality, and ensuring the equipment is kept clean and operating properly. The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, works well under pressure, and takes pride in producing a consistent, high-quality product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, start, and operate the Duetto 2 bun machine safely and efficiently
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain proper bun size, weight, shape, and consistency
- Monitor dough flow and machine performance throughout production
- Check product quality regularly and make corrections when needed
- Identify and report mechanical issues, wear, or malfunctions to management or maintenance
- Work with the mixer and production team to keep dough feeding into the machine on schedule
- Minimize downtime by keeping the line organized and prepared for production runs
- Ensure proper handling of dough to avoid waste and maintain product standards
- Clean and sanitize the machine and surrounding work area at the end of the shift
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist with changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and routine operational checks
- Maintain a steady workflow to meet daily production targets
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bakery, food production plant, or manufacturing environment is an asset
- Experience operating production machinery is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and product consistency
- Basic mechanical ability and confidence troubleshooting minor machine issues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Able to work in a warm, fast-paced production environment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions closely
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with dough or bakery production lines
- Understanding of production flow, timing, and quality control
- Ability to recognize when machine adjustments are needed to maintain output and consistency
Pay: $18.00-$22.50 per hour
