We are currently seeking
an inner-city maintenance worker/laborer to assist with various
tasks in and around the East Village in downtown Calgary.
In your roll you will:
-
Follow the direction of Crew Leader
-
Various litter and debris removal
-
Biohazard removal (sharps, human waste etc.)
-
Bathroom re stocking and maintenance
-
Graffiti removal
-
Public interaction, and engagement
-
Garbage receptacle changes
-
Snow removal
-
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Use of Safety Apps, and various apps required for the job
-
Two-way communication
-
Event set up and take down.

Use of tools/equipment/supplies to assist with:

General Labor
-
Cleaning and maintenance
-
Clean up & dispose of refuse.
-
Abandoned encampment clean up
-
Keen eye for detail, and deficiencies in assets
-
Ability to stay on schedule and follow routes and delegation
-
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.

Participate in Health and Safety. Incident reporting, Practice workplace safety and use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
The position is full time on a rotating schedule running 4 days on, 4 days off. The shift is 12 hours per day 7:00am - 7:00pm. 44+ hours a week on a banked time system (averaging agreement). Direct deposit paid weekly.
This position requires a lot of walking and a keen eye for detail. Experience is an asset. Must be punctual, accountable, honest, and can work well under pressure. Must take direction well, be able to document all tasks in a digital tracking app. The position is year-round - In the winter, on snow days you are required to manually shovel.
