The Role:
As the FP&A Manager, you will have hands-on responsibility for all budgeting and forecasting for the eCommerce business and for Cymax’s subsidiary, Freight Club. This is a strategic role and will be expected to interact regularly with Board members and shareholders. You will be a key resource for senior management by supporting business strategy development and managing financial performance.

The Team:
Our organization operates in a data-intense environment and the key mandates of our Finance team are to provide up-to-date, insightful and operationally relevant financial reporting and to work with the operating departments to streamline and automate processes.

What you'll be doing:
Improve, develop and maintain the organization’s financial models to continually improve planning and analysis
Lead annual budget and planning cycle, setting out timelines and managing participants to stay on plan
Understand developments and trends in the competitive environment helping Channel Gate innovate to stay in front of its competitors
Develop, implement and monitor daily, weekly and monthly KPIs to spot trends in the business and help managers focus on risks and opportunities
Prepare and present Board level reporting on budgets and interim financial performance
Lead the process of regularly updating financial forecasts and explaining variances from operating plans
Provide ROI and other analysis of potential investment opportunities and help guide decision process
Work with department managers to ensure that all operating departments understand the financial implications of their decisions
Continually analyze and evaluate financial reporting tools and processes with a view to optimizing the delivery of timely and accurate financial information
Respond to inquiries from VP of Finance, Controller and other members of the Executive and Management Teams regarding financial results and special reporting requests
Prepare ad hoc reporting and scenario analysis to aid in evaluating new business opportunities
Be a leader and a proactive member of the management team and the Finance group looking for opportunities to support other team members and realize priorities.

Who you are:
CPA designation
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience. Experience in an FP&A role would be considered an asset
Professional demeanor; ability to stay calm and task-oriented under pressure
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
Comfortable in a data-heavy environment and able to distil relevant information from a large amount of raw data
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership and teambuilding skills; you will be required to build strong relationships with operating department managers and be a resource for them on financial issues
Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Good team player with the ability to motivate and keep employees engaged
Comfortable working with shareholders and professional service providers including auditors, bankers and counsel
Comfortable learning and using financial reporting software. Familiarity with Great Plains would be an asset.
