Applications are invited from qualified individuals to instruct in the Access to Practical Nursing Diploma program at the North Island College Comox Valley campus.
The sessional Instructor/Learning Centre Coordinator, up to 45%, is a key member of the APN program team. The Instructor component of the role includes teaching the lab course PNS 106: Integrated Nursing Practice Access. The Learning Centre Coordinator component provides leadership for the APN Learning Centre, including overseeing day‑to‑day operations; advancing simulation‑based curriculum and faculty development; and designing, implementing, and coordinating teaching plans in collaboration with program faculty. The position works in consultation with other NIC health programs and may support collaborative initiatives to further develop simulation capacity across health disciplines.
The successful candidate will implement creative strategies in the preparation and delivery of lab activities; use initiative in providing documentation and follow-up with regard to student concerns and problem resolution; and bring facilitation skills to management of conflict. The schedule for this assignment will be flexible to meet the needs of the program.
The teaching faculty of North Island College are responsible for implementing the College’s vision, goals, and objectives as they relate to teaching and learning.
