Consider joining the team as a Recreation Officer at Monteith Correctional Centre. In this role, you will plan, organize, and deliver a diverse range of physical, social, cultural, and leisure activities that support the well-being and rehabilitation of adult inmates.

Note: This role requires shift work and the successful completion of a specialized, mandatory training once hired.
- Plan, organize, and guide the activities of various clubs and craft classes or other group activities
- Ensure appropriate security and safety measures are maintained
- Ensure the proper maintenance, repairs, and construction of recreation equipment and facilities
- Remain up to date on skills, techniques, rules, and regulations of games and other recreational activities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and supervision of recreation programs and content, and special events
- Coordinate and schedule recreational facilities and equipment
You -
- have knowledge of recreation activities that are acquired through a supervised program of study, such as physical education, kinesiology, or recreation leadership, or equivalent experience in planning and managing recreation programs to meet the physical, social, cultural, and educational needs of adult inmates.
- Can participate in the design and implementation of recreation program content.
You -
- can effectively lead participants through recreational activities
- can demonstrate and supervise recreational activities
You -
- can draft various reports such as program evaluations, occurrence reports, etc.
- can provide clear instructions to participants on how to engage/perform a variety of recreational activities.
