Reporting to the Manager, the Long-Term Care (LTC) Access Centre Clerk provides waitlist reports for the Director and provides administrative support to the Manager and Access Coordinators at the Long-Term Care Access Centre. Administrative duties include preparing and formatting documents, maintaining a filing system, assisting with scheduling functions, operational changes to databases, processing Assessment Applications (A/As) after panel review, preparing Waitlist Management reports for all Long-Term Care Programs, and compiling statistics as required. Maintains current knowledge of, and able to explain the assessment, placement and waitlist processes to stakeholders, partners and clients of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA).
- Minimum five years secretarial experience.
- Data entry experience required.
- Proficient in statistical methods and report compilation.
- Previous experience in healthcare would be an asset.
- Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies; formal training in applied office skills is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- PowerPoint would be an asset.
- Experience with email and computerized calendars (Groupwise).
- Keyboarding speed 60 wpm. Intermediate knowledge of database management and database software applications, particularly MSSP.
- Long-Term Care Access Centre Waitlist database application would be an asset. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
