To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Help Desk Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing students and teachers with computer solutions.
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Help Desk Supervisor
Liaises with: Staff, Faculty, Students
Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Programming, Networking or Computer ScienceExperience: No Experience Required, Help Desk Experience (asset)
Experience in an Independent School (an asset)
Experience in not for profit environment (an asset)
Computer Skills: Comfort with Mac and Windows ApplicationsComfort with RevTouch, Projection, Audio equipment setups
Working Conditions: Office / School Environment, Mac, Google
Key Responsibilities
Help Desk
- Provide exemplary customer service to all employees, students and parents
- Analyze and resolve all student and employee computer issues; escalate issue where appropriate.
- Provide accurate and regular progress updates to students.
- Provide tutorials to students on computer hardware and software.
- Possess a general overall computer knowledge.
Documentation and Training Material Creation
- Document the Help Desk processes for internal Information Technology usage.
- Store in a central location and update all processes.
- Create training materials focused towards staff and students on recurring needs.
- Proactively create training materials on new and developing technology.
Audio Visual
- Setup and configuration of audio and video equipment for school events, presentations, concerts, live performances.
- Operation of audio and video equipment as needed
- Provide how-to/education to students/employees who may need to operate audio/video equipment
Other Duties
- Other duties as assigned by the Help Desk Supervisor
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of PC and Mac Platforms, Understanding of Network Systems, Computer and Computer Design, Multi-tasking, Project Management, Interpersonal, Organization, Drive and Determination and Orientation to Detail, Teamwork
