Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Job Summary
Little Voyagers Pediatric Therapies Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing team in Airdrie, Alberta.
The Occupational Therapist will provide individualized, family-centred services to children and youth with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor, self-care, regulation, and participation needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with children, families, caregivers, and other professionals to support meaningful participation and independence in everyday activities.
This position offers the opportunity to build a part-time to full-time caseload based on therapist availability and client demand, providing flexibility while becoming part of a growing pediatric therapy team.
Responsibilities
- Complete occupational therapy assessments and identify strengths, functional needs, and areas for intervention.
- Develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans based on each child and family’s priorities and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions supporting areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing and regulation, motor coordination, self-care, executive functioning, school participation, play, and other meaningful daily activities.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and other members of the child’s multidisciplinary team.
- Provide families with practical strategies and education to support skill development and participation at home, school, and in the community.
- Monitor client progress and modify intervention approaches and goals as appropriate.
- Complete assessments, treatment notes, progress updates, reports, and other required documentation accurately and within appropriate timelines.
- Participate in case collaboration and communication with other professionals when appropriate and consented to by the family.
- Maintain professional standards and practice in accordance with ACOT requirements, applicable legislation, privacy requirements, and Little Voyagers policies.
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
- Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Experience working with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of pediatric development and occupation-based, family-centred practice.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for working with children.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
