Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Manager and Clinical Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist II provides specialized pulmonary diagnostic services to pediatric patients in ambulatory, outpatient, and inpatient settings. As an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will perform a variety of pulmonary function and lung diagnostic tests while supporting safe, high-quality, family-centered care. In this role, you will provide pulmonary diagnostic services for patients referred through respiratory specialty clinics including Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Pulmonary, Tracheoesophageal Fistula/Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (TEF/CDH), Oxygen Assessment, and other ambulatory care programs. You will educate patients and families regarding testing procedures and respiratory health and collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The RTII is responsible for maintaining quality assurance standards through equipment calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to established testing protocols. You will support both laboratory and mobile diagnostic services and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. The successful candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making skills. Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current BCLS - HCP. 3 years' experience within the last 5 years of direct patient care with at least 1 year of pediatric experience. Acute care experience. Experience with complex pediatric medical pathologies (i.e. tracheostomy, CF, Neuromotor, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience working in a tertiary-level pulmonary function lab in the last 3 years. Experience in a pediatric PFT lab. Experience with exercise testing, walk tests, methacholine challenge testing. Charge/Team Lead experience. Membership and commitment to a multidisciplinary committee within the last 2 years. CAE/CRE certification. CACPT Certification.
