Thermo Cool Mechanical is a growing commercial HVAC company specializing in high-rise residential, commercial, and industrial mechanical systems throughout the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Project Coordinator to join our team and oversee large-scale HVAC replacement projects from award through completion.
This is a senior-level position requiring extensive experience coordinating complex commercial HVAC projects, working with consultants and engineers, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate large commercial HVAC replacement projects including:
- Boilers
- Make-Up Air Units (MUA)
- Chillers
- Cooling Towers
- Pumps
- Heat Exchangers
- Other major mechanical retrofit projects
- Review tender documents, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
- Coordinate projects from award through close-out.
- Schedule and attend site meetings and site visits.
- Communicate with consulting engineers, property managers, general contractors, and suppliers.
- Order equipment and materials while tracking deliveries and project schedules.
- Coordinate labour requirements with the HVAC installation team and field supervisors.
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, close-out documentation, and project turnover packages.
- Monitor project budgets, change orders, and schedules.
- Resolve project issues quickly while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7–10 years of commercial HVAC project coordination or project management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, make-up air units, pumps, and hydronic systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience working with consulting engineers, property managers, and general contractors.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and PDF markup software.
- Experience with project management software is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites throughout the GTA.
