ABA Therapist (Independent Contractor)

Job Summary
Embrace Learning and Development Centre is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated ABA Therapist (Independent Contractor) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will work directly with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, providing high-quality, individualized intervention based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This role primarily involves in-home sessions, with occasional centre-based or community sessions as needed.
You will play a meaningful role in helping children develop communication, social, behavioural, and life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 ABA therapy in clients’ homes following individualized treatment plans.
- Collect, record, and graph data accurately to monitor progress and ensure effective intervention.
- Adjust teaching approaches based on ongoing feedback and supervision from an RBA/Clinical Supervisor.
- Facilitate play-based learning, skill-building activities, and behaviour management strategies.
- Maintain a safe, calm, and structured environment that supports learning.
- Collaborate professionally with parents, caregivers, and team members to promote consistency across settings.
- Uphold Embrace Learning’s standards of care, maintain session notes, and participate in team meetings as required.
- Travel to client homes within assigned regions (Scarborough and surrounding areas).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification in ABA (e.g., RBT, Behavioural Science/ABA Diploma) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Child & Youth Care, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working directly with children with ASD or developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles, data collection, and behaviour-management strategies.
- Excellent communication, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel for in-home sessions.
- First Aid & CPR Certification (required).
- Vulnerable Sector Screening required before the start date.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and clinical quality.
