Metal Distributors Limited (MDL) is a 75+ year Canadian manufacturer and distributor of non-ferrous metal products, including zinc and aluminum marine anodes manufactured under our Reliance brand.
We operate from our modern 14,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Abbotsford and are looking for a dependable, hands-on Processing & Assembly Technician to join our production team.
The Opportunity
This is a versatile manufacturing position supporting both our processing and assembly operations.
The successful candidate will be cross-trained in multiple production functions and may move between processing and assembly depending on production requirements.
This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learns quickly and wants to develop practical manufacturing skills.
Previous manufacturing experience is an asset, but entry-level candidates with strong reliability and work ethic are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.
What You'll Do
- Process and finish cast metal products
- Trim, clean, drill and prepare components as required
- Assemble finished products according to specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools and production equipment as trained
- Inspect parts and finished products for quality
- Identify and report defects or production issues
- Package and prepare completed products
- Maintain accurate production counts and records
- Move between processing and assembly functions as production requirements change
- Maintain clean and organized workstations
- Follow established safety, quality and production procedures
- Assist other production areas as required

Schedule
- Full-time, permanent
- Monday to Friday
- Morning and afternoon shift opportunities
- Training may initially take place on the morning shift
- Overtime may be available as production requires
Morning Shift
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM–1:30 PM
Afternoon Shift
- Monday–Thursday: 1:30 PM–10:00 PM
- Friday: 12:30 PM–8:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
- $19.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Overtime pay
- Employer-paid extended health and dental benefits, including prescription drug coverage, for employees and eligible family members after successful completion of the 3-month probationary period
