The Opportunity
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to critical machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers. This is a unionized position under the Alberta Collective Agreement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment
- Adequately diagnosing and repairing various makes of equipment as required by customers
- Conducting tasks assigned from the Dispatcher, maintaining communication and providing updates as needed
- Actively communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered
- Maintaining proper documentation as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- 3rd year apprentice, journeyman, or red seal certification preferred
- Offroad certification (heavy duty or automotive) an asset
- Experience with hydraulics an asset
- Experience with electronics or diagnosing an asset
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders
- Driver's license required; ability to travel to customer sites within local region

The base pay range for this role is: $45.23 to $52.26 depending on experience.
This is an onsite role based in Edmonton, AB.
