Industrial Electrical Foreman
About Vanguard Power Ltd.
Vanguard Power Ltd. is a British Columbia-based industrial electrical contractor. Our work includes water and wastewater treatment plants, pump and lift stations, traffic infrastructure, CNG, LNG, hydrogen and petroleum fueling stations, water parks and recreational facilities, and industrial power distribution, instrumentation, and controls projects across BC and Alberta. Our field teams work on live operating facilities, shutdowns, and technically demanding installations that require people who think critically, plan ahead, and take ownership of their work — without needing to be told what to do next.
The Role
Own field execution on assigned industrial projects — planning, crew direction, safety, quality, and productivity — with real ownership, not step-by-step direction from the office.
What You'll Do
● Plan labor, materials, tools, equipment, and access ahead of need
● Direct Lead Hands, Journeypersons, and apprentices with clear, measurable work packages
● Run daily toolbox talks/JHAs and enforce safe work practice
● Maintain daily reports, redlines, and site documentation
● Raise RFIs and escalate technical or safety concerns early, with a recommendation
● Coordinate inspections and testing proactively
Travel Requirement
This is a field role. Full willingness and ability to travel and work out of town — including remote, camp-based assignments across BC (including the interior) and Alberta, with occasional projects in other provinces — is a condition of employment.
What You Bring — Minimum Qualifications
● BC Red Seal Construction Electrician (Certificate of Qualification)
● Demonstrated field leadership experience
Preferred / Nice to Have
● FSR certification
● Prior Lead Hand experience
● Experience on live-facility or industrial process sites
Who Succeeds in This Role
Solves problems within their own authority, escalates early with facts and a recommendation rather than waiting to be asked, and maintains professional relationships with site representatives.
Work Environment
Active industrial construction sites, including live operating facilities, water/wastewater plants, and fueling stations. Outdoor and varied indoor conditions; all standard PPE required.
Physical Demands & Schedule
Physically demanding field work: standing, kneeling, climbing, and lifting materials and tools; working at heights and in confined spaces as the task requires; variable schedules including shift work and overtime when the project requires it.
What Success Looks Like
The crew runs productively with minimal avoidable downtime, daily reports and redlines are current, labor tracks to budget, and the site has a clean safety record.
Compensation
Compensation: to be confirmed based on experience and certification level.
