Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our educational team as an on-call/substitute educator. This role is vital in supporting the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong communication skills, and a background in early childhood education. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable experience in the field of early childhood development.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and social development
- Support children with their individual needs, including those with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment
- Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive atmosphere for children to explore and learn
- Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, cleaning up after activities, and maintaining a tidy learning space
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote positive relationships and collaborative support
- Assist with basic educational activities such as early math concepts, literacy, and social skills development
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Experience in teaching or supporting children
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is desirable
- Passion for working with children and fostering their growth and development is essential
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
