At IDEA Lab Kids Whitby, we offer an innovative educational program designed to instill fundamental STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art -Math), and Culinary concepts in students. Through the use of a proprietary curriculum, our programs create a fun learning environment in school age kids via enrichment programs, camp and birthday parties. Our project and design based learning allows the kids to experience the IDEA Lab style of enrichment that boost their creativity, expand their imagination and develop essential critical thinking skills.
We are looking an enthusiastic After School Class Instructor Weekend Party Instructor/Host/Hostess to teach children ages 4-13 in a variety of STEAM-focused classes. The applicant needs to be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, child friendly attitude, and ability to manage a group of kids in a calm manner. Our ideal Instructor is one who is well organized, reliable and one who will provide children with a fun, positive and nurturing environment so they are able to develop a valuable life skill that will benefit them for a lifetime.
This position offers great learning experience in a fun working environment. Curriculum will be provided.
The After School Instructor and Weekend Instructor/Host/Hostess RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
· Providing supervision while teaching the IDEA Lab curriculum
· Building strong and positive relationships with children and their parents
· Providing overall safety and oversight of the kids
· Set-up classroom and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
· Being upbeat and exciting
· Treating children, parents, and co-workers with respect
· Responsible, punctual, and friendly
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma
· 1+ years working with children/youth between 4-13 years required
· Education related to Child/Youth or Early Childhood Education preferred
· First Aid / CPR certification
· Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening complete
· Must be able to provide references
