Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Warehouse Lead Hand to join our team on the afternoon shift (4:00 pm – 1:00 am). This role is responsible for the efficient and timely processing of customer requests for orders, receipts, inventory control, and production of products according to established procedures, following and enforcing all safety protocols and workplace policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in coaching and training of staff by directing daily activities of the warehouse team
- Be efficient on RF scanners, inventory management programs, and production equipment
- Address employee performance issues and elevate when necessary
- Loading and shipping of various products
- Direct daily activities and train new hires
- Maintaining inventory of on-site products
- Ensuring physical inventory is accurate, performing random audits on inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized workplace by implementing daily housekeeping habits
- Communicating maintenance of facilities and equipment to proper authorities
- Communicate and enforce policies and processes
- Clear and efficient communication of daily activities to team and Site Manager
- Data entry, when required
- Deal with customers and suppliers (minimal on afternoons)
- Key holder responsibilities (locking up at the end of shift and securing site)
- Other related duties as required or assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 2 -3 years of experience required in a leadership role in a manufacturing/warehousing environment
- Minimum 1 year counterbalance forklift experience required
- Demonstrate good organizational and data entry skills
- Knows how to work safely
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess mechanical skills
- Able to follow instructions from Supervisor
- Able to work in a team environment that is constantly working towards improving processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills needed to communicate effectively with CSR, Driver and Warehouse teams
- Strong understanding of policies and procedures
- Good understanding of safe work practices
- Able to identify hazards and work towards rectifying them
Working Conditions:
- Able to lift at least 50lbs
- Ability to work outside in any weather conditions
- Overtime as required
- Able to identify any health and safety issues
