As a member of the Marcom team, the Content Writer is responsible for creating, developing, and managing high-quality written content for WinSport. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Marcom, the ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, ski/snowboard and mountain bike industries, outdoor lifestyle, events and concerts, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to create compelling content across various platforms. This role involves collaborating with the Marcom and greater WinSport team to craft engaging and informative content that resonates with our audience promotes our brand and aligns with WinSport’s goals, and objectives.

What you will be doing:
- Content Creation: Write and edit content for a variety of marketing and communication materials including social media posts, blogs, product descriptions, signage, media releases, website copy, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Website Content: Regularly update and optimize website content to support our vast array of business units, and improve user experience and SEO performance
- Product Descriptions: Create detailed and persuasive product descriptions for new and existing offerings, highlighting features and benefits
- Writing in WinSport’s brand voice
- Media Releases: Write and distribute media releases to local and national media outlets to promote events, achievements, and news
- Sponsorship and Philanthropy: Provide support in creating content for engaging sponsorship decks, fulfillment reports, grant applications and supporting collateral
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the marketing team, designers, and other departments to ensure cohesive and effective communication across all channels
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to refine strategies and improve engagement
- Write and develop video scripts in conjunction with the broader marketing, communications and sponsorship team.
- Write speeches, speaking points and other support materials for WinSport spokespeople.
- Write and develop training materials.
- Editing, proofing and updating existing or proposed materials.
- Ensure all content developed links to both our campaign and broader brand positioning.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Proven experience as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role, preferably in the sports or fitness industry
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems (CMS)
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions
- Passion for sports and fitness is highly desirable
- Contribute to team initiatives and perform duties as assigned.
- Proven ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Suite
- Occasional evening or weekend work

- Occasional need to attend meetings, tradeshow and conventions offsite
